Introducing innovative PET flakes and rPET regranulate under the European Funds for a Modern Economy 2021–2027 programme.
WTM Plastic Sp. z o.o. is implementing a project titled "Market launch of PET flakes and rPET regranulate with top functional performance, in response to the challenges of a resource-efficient economy in post-consumer PET packaging processing," co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the European Funds for a Modern Economy 2021-2027 programme.
The project includes the implementation of the Innovation Implementation Module.
The goal of the Innovation Implementation Module is the market introduction of PET flakes and rPET regranulate with the best functional properties, as a response to the challenges of a resource-efficient economy in the area of effective processing of post-consumer PET packaging. As a result, the following will be introduced:
- PET flakes with reduced moisture, reduced levels of non-food impurities, and standardized dimensions,
- rPET regranulate with reduced acetaldehyde content and increased intrinsic viscosity (IV).
The module will consist of two tasks:
Task 1 - carrying out construction works (expansion of the existing hall and construction of
a warehouse) and
Task 2 - purchase of fixed assets (including a technological line) and intangible assets
(production management system) necessary for the commercial implementation of R&D results.
Project objective
The result of the project will be the market introduction of a product innovation – PET flakes and rPET regranulate with the best functional properties, as a response to the challenges of a resource-efficient economy in the area of effective processing of post-consumer PET packaging.
Target groups
PET flakes with better parameters will meet the demand of producers of foil, textiles, and, for example, strapping bands. Thanks to their high quality parameters, regranulates will be used in the production of food packaging (in line with the "bottle-to-bottle" principle), cosmetics, or medical articles.
